Last weekend Jared's parents were in town and we all went to a farm to pick out our pumpkins. This farm had everything a kid could ask for, including a giant moon bounce and a mechanical dinosaur that smashes pumpkins with it's mouth. Hilarious. The main idea is you take a hay ride out to the fields and pick your pumpkins for Halloween straight from the vine. It was actually really fun and we will have to make a yearly event of this for the kids. The most hysterical part of the day was when Eva decided to go for a ride in the "Cow Train". Basically, this was a small tractor that pulled several barrels on wheels filled with small children as you can see in the picture below. We thought she would be just fine by herself on the ride being as brave as she is and thought we'd just wave from the sidelines. However, when the tractor started rolling Eva's happy waves turned to sobbing when she (and we) realized they weren't just going around in a small circle, but on a prolonged trek all over the entire farm! I was laughing and started chasing the train but finally I went back to Jack and the in-laws while my poor husband and his bum knee chased sweet Eva all over the place to make sure she was still smiling and having fun! He ended up running next to her for the duration of the ride, and the man who was driving the tractor had to do a couple of "holding pattern circles" to make sure poor Jared didn't keel over on his gimpy leg and croak next to our poor little girl. We will have to better prepare her for that next time...
